Ann Federman, neé Chana Warshawski, loving wife and mother, good friend to many and a Holocaust survivor, died on Feb. 8, 2021, at the age of 95. She was born in Bedzin, Poland, on Aug. 16, 1925, to Avram and Miriam Warshawski, the 10th of 11 children.
Bettye Sue Balkin (née Sandler) passed away peacefully on Feb. 3, 2021. She was married for 72 years to Bernard Louis Balkin, who predeceased her by 11 days. She is survived by her daughter, Jan Ellen, of Falls Church, Virginia; Jack Mason Balkin, of Branford, Connecticut; and daughter-in-law, Margret Wolfe, also of Branford.
Virginia Lee Chaikin, 98, of Leawood, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. Memorial services were held Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Shirley Sandler passed quietly before breakfast on Jan. 28, 2021, in Encinitas, California. She was born on Sept. 24, 1931, at 2545 Park, Kansas City, Missouri, to Harry Rube Sandler and Dora Gold Sandler, who were both Russian refugees.
Carol Weissman, 83, of Leawood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, in the presence of family and friends.
