The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle has been the voice of Jewish Kansas City since 1920—more than 100 years. The first issue contained articles concerning the history and growth of the United Jewish Charities of Kansas City, a look at what was ahead for B’nai Brith, news about Polish and Russian Jewry, local synagogues, and social/personal announcements.
From its inception, The Chronicle covered the diverse events of the times, from the Holocaust and Israeli-Arab wars to local celebrations such as the opening of the Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy in 1966 and the opening of the Jewish Community Campus in 1988.
The newspaper has chronicled the successes of Kansas City’s Jews and their tremendously positive impact on the community as a whole, well beyond our modest portion of the city’s population.
Now published by the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, The Chronicle works hand in hand with community agencies and organizations to keep its readers up to date on programs, events and happenings around town. The newspaper features local, national and global Jewish news and features, rabbinic wisdom and commentary, and columns/opinion from a variety of perspectives.
The Chronicle has transitioned to a hybrid print/digital model. In this model, The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle is published every other week (click here to view the publication schedule). In the weeks where there is not a print newspaper, subscribers will receive an email newsletter linking back here, to the website.
Thank you for supporting The Chronicle through advertising, subscriptions and loyal readership. All subscription-related questions should be directed to .
