Manon Mallin, beloved mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on Wednesday, March 2, 2022. She was 90. 

Born June 6, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, Manon was the daughter of Harry and Anne Braun Sircus. The family moved from New York to Kansas City in 1940. Manon graduated from Southwest High School in 1950 and graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, in 1952. 

She married Frank Mallin, native Kansas Citian, in 1952. She was a devoted mother of their four children. She had a zest for reading and loved theater. She was employed at Bennett Schneider Bookstore on the Plaza. She then became the box office manager at American Heartland Theatre for many years. 

Manon and Frank showered their children with love. Vacationing every summer at Kirkwood Lodge in the Ozarks, they showcased their dance talent. Manon belonged to the women’s barbershop harmony group Sweet Adelines, was a Cub Scout den mother, was a great cook, and loved chocolate and the Kansas City Chiefs.

She was a member of Temple Beth El, Congregation Ohev Shalom, and, after her husband died, she joined The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah. Manon is survived by her four children: Barri Cae and her husband Jeffrey Seif; Scott and his wife Carolyn; Mickey and his wife Cindy; and Harry and his partner Carol. She leaves behind six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one on the way.

Funeral services were held graveside on March 7, 2022, at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery, 1901 Blue Ridge Blvd, Independence, MO 64052. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to the charity of your choice.
