Don’t delay in ordering your Rosh Hashanah holiday meal. Erev Rosh Hashanah begins on Monday evening, September 6. Meals will be prepared by Kim Matsil of Kim’s Kreations, and curbside meal pickup will take place at the Jewish Community Campus Sunday afternoon, September 5.
There’s still time to sign up for the virtual Day of Discovery event, which will take place Sunday, August 22. Late registration will be available after the August 16 deadline as class size permits. To ensure the safety of all participants, this year’s program will be entirely virtual on Zoom.
According to a survey conducted last August by the Jewish Community Relations Bureau|AJC, Jewish students in Kansas City face antisemitism on a disturbingly regular basis in schools. Seventy-five percent of students reported experiencing or witnessing at least one form of antisemitism at school.
The annual Day of Discovery will take place virtually on August 22. The daylong event runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and provides an opportunity for community members to learn, study, and discover a wide range of topics led by Jewish educators, rabbis, and cantors.
