Stephanie and Adam Elyachar and Lisa and Nick Hughes hosted an intimate 85th birthday party on Saturday, Sept. 24, for their father, Issy Ozar, at the Bohemian Gallery. Delish catered a delicious spread of tasty appetizers, including salmon skewers, chicken slider sandwiches and a special coffee bar with chocolate surprises.

Guest enjoyed playing various casino games with “Issy Bucks” and winning prizes. Dan Meiners added his special touch, which made the Gallery a wonderful place to entertain.

The highlight of the evening was a unique Slot Machine, which was a sweet treat for all the family and friends who sang Happy Birthday to the honoree.

The bride is the daughter of Larry Grunspan and Ilene Grunspan and the granddaughter of Jack and Barbara Bornstein and Mira Grunspan and the late Roman Grunspan.

The groom is the son of Daniel Sneh and Susan Hurst and the grandson of Harold and Phyllis Hurst and Avigdor Sneh of Petah Tikva, Israel, and the late Adina Sneh.

Alice Capson of Overland Park announces the marriage of her son, Jules Lipoff, to Renee Garcia, daughter of Richard and Corinne Garcia of Mattituck, N.Y. The groom is also the son of Dr. Jay and Larisa Lipoff of Marion, Ill.

The bride is the granddaughter of Ruth Lessard and the late Victor Lessard of Mattituck and Maria Garcia and the late Frank Garcia of Margate, Fla. She graduated magna cum laude from Barnard College, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and European history and received her juris doctor from Harvard Law School. She currently is an associate in the litigation department of Hogan Lovells US LLP in New York City.

The groom is the grandson of Eleanor Capson and the late Arthur Capson, Bea and Lloyd Lipoff, and the late Emilie and Hy Krohn. He attended Yale University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in molecular biophysics and biochemistry. After earning his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Yeshiva University, he is currently a resident in dermatology at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, N.Y.

Following a September wedding overlooking Long Island Sound in Mattituck, and a honeymoon in Curaçao, the couple are at home in New York City.

Pearl and Jeffery Ratz of Woodmere, N.Y., (formerly of Kansas City, Mo.) announce the engagement of their daughter, Tara Blair Ratz, to Sean Jeffrey Hirschhorn, son of Roz and David Hirschhorn of St. Louis (formerly of Winnipeg, Ontario).

The kallah-to-be is a graduate of CUNY, Queens College in New York as well as Touro College; she earned her Master of Science degree in education and special education and is currently a lead special-education teacher for first and second graders at Manhattan Day School in New York City.

The chatan-to-be is a graduate of Yeshiva University; he earned his Master of Social Work degree from the University’s Wurzweiler School and is currently the assistant Director of University Housing for Yeshiva University in New York City.
