Douglas County high school senior Samantha Farb was the first place winner at the regional Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) in Stillwater, Oklahoma, on Saturday, March 5. Farb, who home schools in addition to taking some classes at Free State High School, had been conducting her research at the University of Kansas, under the direction of Professor Laird Forrest in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department.
