Lois and Les Zerman, formerly of Overland Park, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary a little early with their family on a cruise to the Bahamas. Their anniversary was Aug. 24.

The couple now live in The Villages, Fla.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Larry and Sally Siflinger and Frank and Carol Erwin. She attended Highland Park High School, St. Edward’s University and Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine, earning her medical degree in podiatric medicine. She is currently employed as a podiatric resident at Weiss memorial Hospital in Chicago.

The future groom is the grandson of Irving and Vivien Schlachter and Florence and Bernard Mishkin. He attended Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy, Indiana University and KU School of Medicine, earning his medical degree. He is currently employed in pulmonary/critical care medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.

An Oct. 20 wedding at Sofitel Hotel in Chicago is planned.
