Sharon and Scott Jerwick announce the engagement of their daughter, Andrea Jerwick, to Zachary Fargo, son of Ellen and Richard Fargo, Keller, Texas.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Eloyce and Morton Pepper of Englewood, Colo., and Marjorie and the late Maurice Jerwick, Overland Park. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology, and from Washburn University earned a degree as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer. She was a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi. She currently is employed as a cardiac sonographer at St. Luke’s Hospital.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Albert and Grace Klein and the late Lynn and Elizabeth Fargo. He attended the University of Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in cultural anthropology. He is currently employed as an account manager for Print Time.

A late May wedding is planned.

Joseph and Alice Megerman announce the birth July 7 (17 Tammuz 5772) of their daughter Golda. Grandparents are Charles and Dr. Esther Megerman of Overland Park and Bob and Arthea Wasson of Sedalia, Mo. Great-grandparents are Taisa Simon of Leawood and Arthur and Mary Kay Wasson of Knob Knoster, Mo.

Shawn Bohs and Julie Hirsch Bohs announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Emory Russell Bohs, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, officiated by Rabbi Doug Alpert of Congregation Kol Ami.

Emory is the grandson of Alan and Marilyn Hirsch, Buffalo Grove, Ill., and Ron and Iris Bohs, Farmington, Mo.

Grant Ellenberg is a freshman business major at the University of Arkansas. He was recently awarded the Balanced Man Scholarship from the Arkansas Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. This scholarship recognizes students whose academic performance, achievements and extracurricular activities are consistent with the fraternity ideals of developing a sound mind and body. Ellenberg was the top recipient and the scholarship was presented at a banquet at the Historic Inn at Carnall Hall on Aug. 19. Grant is the son of Steve and Denise Ellenberg and a recent graduate of Blue Valley North High School.

Jay and Kate Levine announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Sophie Elizabeth Levine, at Minchah Service at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Congregation Beth Shalom.

Sophie is the granddaughter of Linda and Art Levine and Alice and Jim Algie.

Kerry and David Kuluva announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Jordan Kuluva, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at Congregation Beth Shalom.

Jordan is the grandson of Marie and Phil Koffman and Renee and Lynn Kuluva. Great-grandmother is Sara Mittelman.

Michael and Kimberly Krutz announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Stephanie Alice Krutz, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.

Stephanie is the granddaughter of Ted and Alice Pethtel of Warsaw, Mo., and the late Lev Moyseyevich Krutz and Veronika Ivanovna Papushis.

Relatives and friends are invited to worship with the family and to attend the Kiddush luncheon following the service.

Lois and Les Zerman, formerly of Overland Park, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary a little early with their family on a cruise to the Bahamas. Their anniversary was Aug. 24.

The couple now live in The Villages, Fla.

Hannah and Abby are the daughters of Dr. Marjorie Beebe and the late Bradley Schifman. Grandparents are Robert and Madeline Schifman of Overland Park and David and the late Marie Beebe of Topeka.
