On Oct. 14, 2012, Don and Harriet Boresow celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

Harriet Bordman and Don Boresow were married Oct. 14, 1957, at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah at 69th & Holmes, Kansas City, Mo.

They were married in the chapel where Rabbi Samuel Mayerberg performed the ceremony. A dinner at the Bellerive Hotel followed.

A dinner was held in honor of their anniversary, given by their children. It was held at the Grand Street Café and the Boresows said it was a very special time, celebrating with their children and just being together.

Rochelle and Ed Kanter, Leawood, and Marina and Vladimir Bondar, Overland Park, announce the engagement of their respective children, Shane Jerome Kanter and Julia Bondar.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Polina and Ilya Kantor and the late Yelizaveta and Nison Bondar. She attended New York University Stern School of Business, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and international business. She was a member of the Lion King Fan Club and Ladies of 6C. She is currently employed in mobile strategy and development at American Express in Chicago.

The future groom is the grandson of Allen and the late Donna Levine and the late Joe and Esther Kanter. He attended the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Planning, earning a Master of Arts degree in architecture, focusing on acoustics. He was a member of Competitive Book Binding and the Merry Pranksters. He is currently employed as a consultant at Threshold Acoustics in Chicago.

A Sept. 1 wedding at The Kill Devil Club is planned.

Allen Laner and Marlene Katz Glasser (both from Kansas City) were married Aug. 17 in Aspen, Colo.

Both their families attended for a week’s celebration. They are making their home in Dallas.

Sally and Gordon Slabotsky will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Saturday, Oct. 20, with family and friends. They were married on Oct. 26, 1947, at Congregation Beth Shalom.
