Annette Siegel, 88, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, August 14th, 2021.

Annette was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and moved to Overland Park, Kansas in 1976. She was a longtime member of The Temple, Congregation, B’nai Jehudah and was vice president of B’nai Brith Women. She volunteered at Menorah Medical Center and Harvesters Community Food Network. She was passionate about politics and ran the Democratic headquarters in Minneapolis.

Taisa Simon died August 15, 2021, in Overland Park, KS, at age 92.

Taisa was born April 14, 1929 in Gorky, Russia. There she met her first husband, Benjamin Sukiennik, who had fled from Poland and the Nazis with part of his family. In 1947 they returned briefly to Poland, lived as displaced people in Sweden for five years, and thanks to President Truman, were able to move to America in 1953.

Laurence M. Silver, aka Popeye, of Overland Park, KS was born on August 25, 1947 in Detroit, MI and passed away on July 11, 2021. He is preceded in death by Marshall Arthur Silver and Helen Jacobson Silver. He is survived by his wife, Janis Doreen Silver; his sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and John Nathan; his son, Bradley L Silver; his daughter, Ashley Silver Fox and his step-daughter, Serena Pastena. Michael Lee Katz passed away on August 8, 2021, at Promise Skilled Nursing Facility in Overland Park. Born in June 1946 in Arnes, Iowa, Michael’s parents moved up to Kansas City when he was a child, where he attended Paseo High School before earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Missouri.

Jana Rae Bronfman, D.O., passed away on July 24, 2021, at Nicks Healthcare in Plattsburg, Missouri. She never recovered from Covid and was in a coma for several days. Jana was born on January 6, 1952, to David and Rosalie (Blender) Bronfman of Kansas City, Kansas. Jana graduated from Wyandotte High School and Baker University. She completed her medical training at the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1978.
