Brita Horowitz, 85, of Overland Park, Kansas, a retired social worker, died on April 15, 2022.
Brita was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and moved to the U.S. in 1954 to study. She was married for 30 years to Herbert Horowitz, who preceded her in death. She was a member and volunteer at The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, and was a Kansas City Symphony patron for 60 years. She participated in many arts and cultural events.
Survivors include her son Daniel M. Horowitz (Marianne) of Overland Park; daughter Lisa B. Horowitz (Maura Roche) of Portland, Oregon; sister Eva Cummings (Bill) of Fairway, Kansas; and three grandchildren, one great-grandson and two nieces.
Funeral services were on April 18, 2022, at the Louis Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests donations to any Kansas City Arts organization.
