As part of the Sweet & Sacred Series, B’nai Jehudah is offering a virtual Elul Boot Camp with three special guest teachers on August 18, 25 and September 1.

Whether you plan to observe the approaching Jewish High Holy Days alone, in person, in small groups, or virtually with family and friends, make it special and enjoy a holiday meal together. Orders are now being accepted for High Holy Day meals to go and early ordering deadlines should be noted.

The annual Day of Discovery will bring the community together for a day of Jewish learning and study from 9:30 a.m. to  3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 22.

The Rabbinical Association of Greater Kansas City and synagogue religious school educators will provide a community-wide faculty professional day from 10:00 a.m. to noon this Sunday, August 8.

As the the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Jewish Family Services continues to provide more than 775 families with food, household and personal care items - even pet food.

Congregation Ohev Sholom invites them community to join them on Zoom for its series of “Enhancing Elul” programs.

This year’s annual community-wide Selichot program and service will take place Saturday, August 28, hosted by Congregation Beth Torah. There will be opportunities for multi-access participation, both in person and virtual. 

Take time for personal reflection, introspection and contemplation for the upcoming Jewish New Year during the Service of Spiritual Renewal for the High Holidays at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 19, at Village Shalom, 5500 W. 123rd St., in Overland Park.

A virtual orientation session takes place from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Thursday, August 12, for those enrolling in the 36-week Judaism for conversion candidates course. The program is intended for those considering conversion to Judaism. Classes will take place virtually and some sessions may rotate among the synagogues later in the year.

Children in need at two Kansas City, Missouri, elementary schools will have year-round access to new clothes starting this fall through Stacey’s Closet, a new program of the Kansas City section of the National Council of Jewish Women.
