The weather has made it tough to actually work at Mitzvah Garden KC (MGKC). Despite that seasonal reality, MGKC did have a wonderful celebration of Tu b’Shevat on Wednesday, Jan. 27, via Zoom. Village Shalom rebroadcast this 21st annual seder was rebroadcast on Sunday, Jan. 31.
Skip the meal preparation and grocery shopping and order early your curbside kosher for Passover seder “Meals-to-Go.” Meals prepared by Cathy Levin, Kosher Connection under the supervision of the Vaad HaKashruth of Kansas City can be picked up on Friday, March 26. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, March 16, and after the deadline, orders will be taken only on a meal availability basis.
A virtual communitywide Purim day celebration will take place 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, Feb. 26. Jewish community members of all ages are invited to join Rabbis David Glickman, Beryl Padorr, Jonathan Rudnick, Linda Steigman and Hazzan Tahl Ben Yehuda for an interactive and engaging reading of the Megillah along with music and discussion.

Leaders of the Jewish Community Relations Bureau|American Jewish Committee said the agency drew on its strong ties with the local education community in the wake of an anti-Semitic incident at The Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City.
Jewish Family Services serves approximately 1,100 clients who are 65 and older, about half of whom have mobility challenges. Many of these clients might be in nursing homes without the wraparound services JFS provides, including deliveries from its food pantry, JET Express rides, and handyman services through Help@Home.
