Mitzvah Garden KC and the Kansas City Community Gardens will host an Interfaith community-wide educational workshop on the benefits of raised box gardening and the gardening technique of hugelkultur — creating a raised garden bed of rotting wood and plant debris.
Learn about the benefits of a different method of gardening using raised box and general construction tips. Find out why hugelkultur is growing in popularity and see how it’s done.
For those who desire to get their hands dirty, we will have a hands-on opportunity to share in completing the four raised beds with the hugelkultur method. Please bring gloves.
Chuck Luchen, along with the help of the MGKC crew, will lead the discussion. The event will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, March 13 (rain-out date is March 20). Meet on the west side of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, located at 12320 Nall Avenue, Overland Park, Kansas.
RSVP by March 16 to .
