The City of Leawood, Kansas, and the Leawood Arts Council hosted a dedication event for “Reaching,” a public art piece created by Jewish artist William Nemitoff. Nemitoff, a native of Leawood, is the son of Leslie and Rabbi Arthur P. Nemitoff, rabbi emeritus of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.

This October, Jewish Family Services (JFS) is partnering with the Rabbinical Association of Greater Kansas City for the annual High Holiday Food Drive, JFS’ largest collection effort of the year. The drive begins on Oct. 2 (Erev Rosh Hashanah) and will continue through the conclusion of the holidays on Oct. 25.

In remembrance of the Oct. 7 terror attacks and its impact on Kansas City’s Jewish community, the Jewish Community Relations Bureau | American Jewish Committee will host a limited special art exhibit, “A Year Without - An October 7 Commemoration,” from Oct. 1 through 7. This exhibit will be in the main lobby of the Jewish Community Campus and can be viewed during normal business hours.
