Michael and Sherel Sands will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on May 9. They were married May 9, 1948.

They are the parents of three children, Susan Warshawsky (Arnold), Neal Sands (Jenny) and Stacy Sands, the grandparents of Brady Warshawsky (Jamie Katz) and Polly Sands; and the great-grandparents of Jacob Warshawsky.

Originally from Chicago, the Sands’ have been active in the Jewish community for many years. They are members of Temple Sinai.

Gloria Schlossenberg turned 90 on Wednesday, May 8. Her family and many of her friends celebrated with her on Sunday, May 5. Gloria has lived in Overland Park for more than 30 years. Her husband, Irving, passed away two years ago.

 

Dr. Dave Burnett and Jane Burnett announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Benjamin Burnett, at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at Congregation Beth Torah.

Ben is the grandson of Dr. Gary and Loretta Fingert, West Des Moines, Iowa. He is the great-grandson of Dr. Henry Corn, West Des Moines.

Collin and Corie Asch of Cincinnati announce the birth March 8 of their daughter, CeCe Elise. They are also the parents of a son, Sammy.

Grandparents are Steve and Robbie Gordon, of Overland Park and Herb and Marilynn Asch, of Cincinnati.

 

 

David and Dr. Rachel Pase Sosland announce the birth March 13 of a daughter, Juliet Anna Sosland. They are also the parents of Ethan Samuel, Gabrielle Dora and Jacob Benjamin.

Grandparents are Sharon and Stuart Pase, Leawood, and Blanche and Neil Sosland, Mission Hills. Great-grandmother is Gertrude Epstein of Kansas City, Mo.

 

 

Andrew Dubrov and Li-Or Zaltzman were married in New York City on March 29.

The bride is the daughter of Pnina Bar-Zaltzman and Yoav Zaltzman of Ramat-Gan, Israel, and granddaughter of Regina (Rina) and the late Michael Bar, and Rivka and the late Theodor Zaltzman. She is graduating from the School of Visual Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in illustration and cartooning.

The groom is the son of Judy and Ron Dubrov of Overland Park, and grandson of Louis Moses and the late Betty Jean Moses, and the late Harry and Ann Dubrov. He is an NYU Ph.D. candidate in French.

 

 

Labe Asner will be celebrating his 90th birthday on Sunday, May 5. He is a lifelong resident of Kansas City.

His children, Scott and Susan Asner, Lisa and Buzzah Feingold and Marci Asner, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren will be in attendance with him Saturday, May 4, at Congregation Ohev Sholom where he will be honored at the Shabbat morning service.

Talia is the granddaughter of Eileen Jagoda and Don Ipock, Sheila and Daniel Karpin of Kansas City, Mo., and Carol and Mark Shachtman, Northbrook, Ill. Great-grandparents are Muriel and Irving Garber of Glenview, Ill.

Gayle and Bruce Krigel of Kansas City, Mo., announce the engagement of their son, Jeffrey Price Krigel, to Stephanie Suzette Duran-Quintana, daughter of Norma Quintana and the late Albert Duran of Jerome, Idaho.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Esperanza Zermeño, Juan Quintana and the late Maria Gaucin. She is a graduate of Jerome High School in Jerome. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations from the University of Idaho. She is now careering with Teach for America in Tulsa, Okla.

The future groom is the grandson of Betty Wacknov Price and the late Elmer Price and the late Marjorie and Jack Krigel. He is a graduate of The Pembroke Hill School and was a member of the Jewel Ball floor committee in 2006. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from Southern Methodist University and a juris doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law. He is the owner of the Jeff Krigel Law Firm in Tulsa.

Theirs will be a June 30 wedding at the Kansas City Zoo.

Monica and Stephen Naron of Stockholm announce the birth April 9 of a daughter, Ida Elizabeth Lovisa Naron. They are also the parents of 2 ½-year-old Alma Elisabeth Beate Naron.

Paternal grandparents are Marsha and Gene Naron of Leawood. Maternal grandparents are Inga-Lill and Werner Rachbauer of Falun, Sweden.
