Victor Bruller will be 95 on March 26. He was born in 1916 in Vienna. Olga, Victor’s wife of 60 happy years, was very involved with AMIT in Kansas City. She rescued Victor from the Nazi death camp of Dachau and they came to the United States, where he was an upholsterer for more than 75 years.

Victor and Olga had one daughter, Mary, who lives in Overland Park with her husband of 47 years, Jacob. Jacob and Mary met in Israel and have two sons, Jeffrey, married to Leslie, of Overland Park, and Daniel married to Jennifer, of Overland Park.

From Jeffrey and Daniel came six children — Ariella, Michael, Sam, Joey, Jessica and Leorah, which made Victor and Olga great-grandparents.

Victor will now see a new beginning of a great-great-grandchild in a few months from Michael and Brandi. And soon another generation begins.

Mr. and Mrs. John Bauman of Columbia, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Elizabeth Bauman, to Andrew Tecumseh Starr, son of Norton and Irene Starr of Amherst, Mass.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Curry and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bauman. She attended the University of Iowa, earning Bachelor of Science degrees in economics and political science and Northwestern University Law School, earning her law degree. She is employed at the Summers Law Firm in Kansas City.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Norman Stiefel and the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Starr. He attended the University of Utah, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in economics, and The University of Georgia School of Law, earning his law degree. He is employed at Wayside Waifs in Kansas City.

A spring wedding is planned in Kansas City.

Amanda Tarter and Josh Flaherty of New York City announce the birth Feb. 13 of a son, Ryder Harrison Flaherty. Grandparents are Gina Kaiser and David Gale and Tina and Mark Flaherty. Great-grandparents are Marcelle and Bill Kaiser.

Joan and Pete Cabell announce the Bat Mitzvah of their daughter, Gabrielle Cabell, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Congregation Beth Shalom. Gabi is the granddaughter of Susan Grossman Cabell and the late Gerald Frank Cabell and Katie Sinclair Edwards and the late John Edwards. Family and friends are invited to worship with the family and to attend the Kiddush luncheon following the service.

Jennifer and Steven Paul announce the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Michael Paul, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at Congregation Beth Shalom. Michael is the grandson of Barbara and Phillip Hades and Marcia and Melvyn Paul. Jocelyn and John Fry of Leawood, Kan., announce the engagement of their daughter, Carrie Lynne Fry, to Michael Evan Robinson, son of Jeannine Robinson of Overland Park, Kan., and Irv Robinson of Leawood.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Gloria Fry and the late Alvin Fry and Peggy Moser and Warren Moser. She attended Indiana University, graduating from Kelley School of Business with a degree in marketing. She was a member of the women’s soccer team. She owns her own business, Alvin H. LLC, a Web strategy and design firm in Prairie Village, Kan.

The future groom is the grandson of the late Marjorie and David Veitch and the late Celia and Bernard Robinson. He attended Brooks Institute of Photography, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in professional photography. He received the Department Award for commercial advertising. He owns his own business, Michael Robinson Photography LLC – Architectural and Interior.

A May 7 wedding at Oakwood Country Club is planned.

Andrew and Sarah Shulkind announce the birth Dec. 9 of twin daughters, Olivia Estelle and Sadie Ann, in Los Angeles. They are also the parents of older sister Lucy. Grandparents are Jan and Steve Shulkind of Overland Park and Idith and Jay Zimbler of Winnetka, Ill. Great-grandparents are Lee Shulkind and the late Maurice Shulkind and the late Gerry and Stanley Donovitz.

Nancy Wayne and Rene Bollier of Kansas City, Mo., announce the birth Jan. 17 of their twin daughters, Sophie Clare and Scarlette Elyse. They are also the parents of Joelle Marie. Maternal grandparents are Rosemary Wayne and Joe Gittemeier and paternal grandparents are Connie and Marcel Bollier.

Stephen and Elizabeth Sobel Blum of Dallas announce the birth Dec. 20 of their daughter, Hannah Sobel Blum. Grandparents are Michael and Jenifer Blum of Overland Park and Carol Sobel and the late Dr. John Henry Sobel of Denver. Great-grandmothers are Margaret Smith of Dallas and Miriam Sherman of Denver.
