Ellen and Paul Schifman announce the engagement of their son, Eli Schifman, to Xochitl Smola, daughter of Xochitl Wagoner of El Paso, Texas.
Eli is the grandson of Madeline and Robert Schifman of Prairie Village, Kansas, and Rica and the late Harvey Spivack of Tucson, Arizona. Xochitl is the granddaughter of the late Eusebia and Joseph Sarmiento of Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, and Marta and Gabriel Smola of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Eli is a private equity associate at Freeman Spogli & Co. in Los Angeles, California. He received a Bachelor of Science with Honors in finance and economics from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona in 2019. Xochitl is a Ph.D. student studying psychology at the University of California, Los Angeles. She received a Bachelor of Science with Honors in psychology from Arizona State University in 2020 and a Master of Arts in psychology from UCLA in 2021.
The couple are planning a 2024 wedding in Scottsdale, Arizona.
