The celebration included a formal presentation of a special award, “Veteran of the Year,” from the Jewish War Veterans, MO-KAN Post 605. The award was in recognition of his “years of faithful service to the Nation, Lifetime Member of the Jewish War Veterans of the USA, Post Commander (1966-1969, 1980-1981) and Department Commander (1983-1984).”

During World War II, Staff Sgt. Braeman (U.S. Army Air Force) saved the lives of many American pilots by his outstanding ability to oversee aircraft maintenance and repairs and reject aircraft that were not safe for combat missions. Aaron received congratulatory letters from President Obama, Sen. Pat Roberts, Rep. Kevin Yoder and others.

His daughters Roslyn Payne and Eileen Braeman were proud to organize several celebrations at different locations over the weekend, so his many friends could share this important milestone with him.
