Do you want to make new friends and lasting memories?
Do you want to exercise both your mind and body?
Come to Ward Parkway on Sunday mornings in the fall and have a good time and meet some new friends.
It is a lot of fun. We are a handicap league, meaning every player gets pins to bring their average up to a predetermined total. For example, let’s use 200. If your average is a 100, you will get an extra 100 pins to level the playing field. Other players will get pins based on their averages. Your team scores plus handicaps need to beat the other team’s total score, including handicap. Teams are usually three players, and you are only really competing against yourself.
We are a cash league. Yes, we play for fun, but you can win some money too.
We start at 9:15 a.m. and are done before the Chiefs’ games. We play all sorts of games, and also have two breakfasts during the year.
We have guys in their 80s, 70s and 60s, and guys in their 20s — but our league is shrinking. The B’nai B’rith Sunday Morning Bowling League needs new bowlers.
Please don’t tell me you stink, you don’t know how to bowl or you’re embarrassed with your average. We have averages from 125 up to 211. So, there is room for everyone.
If you are at all interested in joining the Bowling League, contact me at or (913) 957-3716.
Editor’s note: During its seasons, B’nai B'rith Sunday Morning Bowling League scores are regularly printed in The Chronicle and have been for decades. It is a Chronicle and Bowling League tradition.
