In fact, we are striving to report the local Jewish community news that we think most affects you, our readers. To do that well, we will need your help. As much as we try, we can’t be everywhere or talk to everyone, so we will rely on you, our faithful readers, to let us know if there are stories out there we need to cover. Sometimes, we’ll ask you to simply send us the information in a press release. Other times, call us, e-mail us, and your news tips will turn into a full-fledged feature article. Either way we hope we become even more successful in portraying our readers’ vibrant Jewish lives here in Kansas City.
We’ll do our part by being more visible within the community. When there’s a large community event, there’s a good chance you’ll see someone from our staff there. But if we can’t be there, we still want to make sure your friends and neighbors read about it. So we ask that you continue to send us your photos and articles about the activities and events you are passionate about. Some of our best photos can be the ones our readers send to us.
You’ll still be able to find the things you love the most about The Chronicle — especially the news about who’s becoming a Bar or Bat Mitzvah or, sadly, who recently passed away — in their customary places in the pages of paper.
Our staff, though still small, is also available to chat any time. Besides me, there’s our community editor Marcia Horn Montgomery. You might not recognize the name Montgomery because Marcia is a newlywed, but she is the same helpful voice you have been speaking to for nine years.
There will also be changes in the way you communicate with us. Our e-mail addresses have changed and you can reach us at . Individually we can be found at or . All of our e-mail addresses can be found in the paper’s masthead on page 2 of the paper.
Our office has moved to 4210 Shawnee Mission Parkway in Fairway. Our new phone number is 913-951-8440. We would love to visit with you, but because we are often out on appointments we suggest you call before you drop by so we can make sure we’ll have someone on hand to help you.
Our website, www.kcjc.com, will remain the same.
Once again, please don’t hesitate to let us know what you think. If you have an event you think we should cover, call us and talk to us about it. Send us your photos and your organization’s news. We’re proud we’ve served the Jewish community for 90 years and thrilled that you will continue to find The Chronicle in your mailbox every Friday for years to come!
