Carolyn R. Glazer, 95, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on June 16.
Services were held graveside on June 19 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Carolyn was born in Kansas City and was a lifelong area resident. She attended Paseo High School and was a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Carolyn worked for both Woolf Brothers and Herzfeld’s as a sportswear buyer. She loved working in the business end of the fashion industry.
Carolyn married the love of her life, Harold M. Glazer, and they enjoyed married life for 48 years before Harold’s passing in 2012. They made a beautiful home together and enjoyed entertaining friends, hosting Great Decisions meetings and working on Brandeis book sales.
They enjoyed traveling, as well as listening to great music, watching the best that television had to offer and cooking interesting meals together. Carolyn and Harold were members of Congregation Beth Shalom.
Carolyn had a deep faith and strong love of Judaism. She was a great talker and also a great listener. A people-first person, she always asked the right questions and took the time to deeply understand the people in her life.
In recent years, Carolyn lived in assisted living at Village Shalom. She made a good life for herself there, made many friends and remained mentally sharp until her last day.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Agnes Shankman, and her sisters, Hannah and Muriel. She leaves her nephew, Mark Glinert of Great Neck, New York; niece, Marcia (Jeffrey) Lipsky; and great-nieces and great nephews, Charlotte Lipsky, Daniel (Lindsey) Lipsky, Nathan (Becky) Lipsky; as well as great-grandnieces and great-grandnephew, Ellie, Hannah and Jacob Lipsky.
