Roberta “Bobbie” Ann Rosmarine of Overland Park, Kansas, died on May 18 at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family.

Throughout her happy life, she brought love and happiness to everyone around her.

Bobbie was born on Jan. 19, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Gertie and Sam Gladstone, who described her as "the light of their lives."  She was the older sister to Carol (Gladstone) Yarmo, who was seven years younger than her. The two sisters were extremely close throughout their entire lives and loved their Saturday lunches and shopping with their mother. Bobbie often referred to her as her "baby" sister, even when Carol was in her 70s.

She attended J.C. Nichols Elementary School and later graduated from Southwest High School in 1956. She worked at Emery Bird Thayer Department Store in downtown Kansas City for several years before beginning a long career at The Jones Store in Overland Park, where she was known as a friend to all.

Bobbie met her adoring husband, Jerry Rosmarine, in 1958 on a double date, even though they were paired with the opposite couple. That did not deter what would become a truly great love story. They were married the next year, and their love for each other continued growing over 64 wonderful years of marriage. Their love and devotion to each other was a shining example of what marriage should be.

Bobbie was a wonderful mother and took tremendous pride in raising their beautiful daughter, Sheila, who was the absolute joy of her life. Sheila described her mother as “the best mother a girl could have.”

Bobbie and Jerry were very close with their relatives, Bob and Carol Yarmo and Bob and Stella Hoffman. Bobbie had a major impact on all their lives, and she and Jerry were like a second set of parents to each of their nieces and nephews.

Bobbie's smile was electric, and she had a great zest for life. She made friends everywhere she went, affectionately calling each person “hon.” She and Jerry had a large group of friends, and it was Bobbie who was the glue that kept them all together. She enjoyed traveling, playing mahjongg and Pan, and eating out with their many friends.

She lived every day to the fullest and was a truly happy and loving person. Jerry remained by her side daily and gave her love and companionship throughout their entire lives together.

She is preceded in death by her niece Stephanie Boresow and brother-in-law Bob Hoffman. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; daughter, Sheila; sister, Carol Yarmo; brother-in-law Bob Yarmo; sister-in-law, Stella Hoffman; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Funeral services were held on May 21 at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery Chapel, followed by burial at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery.
