On Feb. 7, Karen Lynn Agron Flattery died in her home in the arms of her husband of 27 years, Kevin Flattery.
A noted Kansas City jazz singer, Karen went on to a long and successful career in human services fundraising. Loved and admired by countless family and friends, the world will be a lesser place without Karen’s engaging enthusiasm for life. A zest she lost only once upon the premature death four years ago, nearly to the date of her own, of her only child, Justin Benjamin Gillespie.
Karen was Kevin’s beloved, and she will remain so to his dying day. Lady of light, you made us smile. Thank you.
There will be no immediate services, but there will be a spring event in Karen’s memory to be announced later to family and friends. Memorial gifts may be sent to patient special needs funds at the Village Shalom Development Office (5500 W. 123rd St., Overland Park, KS 66209).
