Harry P. Levitt, 91, passed away on Jan. 11 in Overland Park, Kansas.
Harry, from the Bronx, New York, joined the U.S. Marines when he was 19 years old. He fought in the Korean War and was wounded twice. After the war, Harry acquired an industrial engineering degree and a private pilot’s license.
He then married Sally Levitt and they had four children; Lillian, Deborah, Ken and Janice. The family eventually moved to the Kansas City area. Harry worked for the Army at Fort Leavenworth.
After Harry’s divorce, Harry met his present wife, Peg, and they were married in 1988. They attended Congregation Beth Torah and The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah.
A private memorial service with military honors will be held for family and friends in April. Online condolences for the family may be left at louismemorialchapel.com.
