Michael Lewis Coleman II was found dead in his home by family on Nov. 19 and pronounced dead on scene.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1973, to a young Marsha and Michael Coleman. He would be the only child for two years until his sister was born. Michael was the oldest of eight kids.
Michael met the love of his life in October of 1992 at a McDonald's. Her name was Rachel Megerman. They dated for a couple years and finally got married in April of 1995 with their oldest child (Michael Lewis Coleman III) being born that same October.
Michael joined the United States Air Force a month later. He completed training in Mississippi and was stationed with his family in Colorado Springs, Colorado. During his time in the Air Force, he worked on and fixed computers. He served until 1998 when he was honorably discharged for medical reasons.
Afterwards, Michael moved his small family back to Kansas City and lived in a small townhouse where his second son was born in September of 2000 (Aaron Bailey Coleman). This small family unit was happy and comfortable, with Michael going back to school and getting a job as a drafter. This was a job he had for years until being 100% retired from service in 2005. In December of 2002, Michael would have his last son (Allen Bradey Coleman).
Michael is survived by his wife, Rachel Coleman; sons Aaron Coleman and Allen Coleman; stepfather, Ronald Tomberlin; several siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marsha Tomberlin; grandmother-in-law Bubbie; son Michael Coleman III; father-in-law, Charles Megerman; and grandmother Barbara Curtis.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a charity of your choice.
Services were held on Nov. 29 at Leavenworth National Cemetery (150 Muncie Rd., Leavenworth, KS 66048).
