Marty Chaitman, 81, of Overland Park, Kansas, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2023.
Funeral services were held Aug. 4 at Louis Memorial Chapel. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery.
Marty was born Jan. 2, 1942, to the late Abe and Lillian Chaitman in Kansas City, Missouri. He began high school at Rockhurst High School and graduated from Shawnee Mission East in 1960.
He spent his life traveling the country and selling antiques and jewelry with his brother, Jerry, as co-owners of Antiques by Lilliane.
Marty and his wife, Judi, were high school sweethearts who reunited nearly 30 years later. They married in Hawaii in 1990 and recently celebrated 33 years of marriage.
Marty loved his time with all his children, grandchildren and great-grandson. He loved to travel the world and found the time he spent volunteering at Children's Mercy and Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead very rewarding.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Abe Chaitman, and son, Cary.
He is survived by his wife, Judi; daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Kenny Kraus of Chesterfield, Missouri, and Michelle and Alan Rosenberg of Atlanta, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law Tim and Jillina Swango of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren Danny, Mara and Ben Kraus, Bella Gross, Brendan and Zakk Rosenberg and London, Britton, Cambri, Sutton, Andie and Bailey Swango; and great-grandson, Jackson Kraus.
