Marvin Wolf, 86, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away on July 18, 2023.
Marvin was born Sept. 3, 1936, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Raymond and Betty Wolf. He graduated from Paseo High School and received an associate’s degree from Wentworth Military Academy. Marvin married the late Sana Rita Levine in 1958. He worked at Whitaker Cable, Viking Poly Industries, and from 1978-2000 owned Sunshine Automotive.
Marvin was a successful Golden Gloves boxer and had a passion for cars. He was a lifetime member of the Sports Car Club of America and shared his racing hobby with his sons, Steve and Barry. Marvin was a KU fanatic and especially loved watching and talking about KU basketball. He enjoyed reading westerns and historical nonfiction. Marvin loved Disney. His favorite character was Winnie the Pooh, and his favorite ride was Tower of Terror (which he last rode when he was 78). Marvin had a giant soft spot for dogs. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, stubborn independence, and devotion to his family. Marvin will be forever in our hearts.
Marvin was preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Sana Wolf; parents Raymond and Betty Wolf; sister Frances Weinstein; and great-grandson, Arik.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 12 years, Marion Ida Wolf; four children from his first wife, Sana: Steve Wolf (children Will and Ben, Andrew and Hannah, grandchildren Autumn and Sebastian), Barry Wolf (children Emily and Stephanie), Deborah DeMars (husband Tim and children Nathan and Shane) and Sherri McQueen (husband Randy and children Noah, Zachary, and Ariana); sister Beverly DeLeve; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Graveside services were held on July 21, 2023, at Rose Hill Cemetery. Donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of his beloved Sana.
