Dr. Ilan Maizlin M.D, age 39, passed away on June 28, 2022.
He was the beloved husband of Anna Maizlin, devoted father of Gracie (age 9) and Maya (10 months), dear brother of Liel and Jarred Cupps, and son of Valera and Alona Maizlin. A graveside service was held June 20, 2022, at Kehilath Israel Blue Ridge Cemetery.
Dr. Maizlin was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, on May 15, 1983. He left Ukraine in 1990 with his family and moved to Haifa, Israel. After nine years in Israel, Ilan moved to Portland, Oregon, in 1999. He attended University of Washington for his undergraduate degree, majoring in biochemistry. After University of Washington, he was accepted to OHSU Medical School where he earned his M.D.
Those who were fortunate enough to know and love Ilan know he dedicated every ounce of his heart to fulfill his lifelong dream of a career in medicine. Dr. Maizlin was so adored by his patients that seeing him was the best part of their day. He was a ray of sunshine, always smiling and a true light in the world — so much so that in one of his last acts on earth was saving a life.
Ilan was always dedicated to meeting his goals and succeeding in his professional endeavors while keeping his family as his top priority and always ensuring they came first. Ilan was a loving, dedicated, selfless, and devoted husband, father, brother, and son. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
