Arthur A. Meltzer, 88, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022.
Funeral services were graveside on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Rose Hill Cemetery, 6940 Troost Ave, Kansas City MO 64131.
Art was born August 30, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York. His family moved to Kansas City when he was 3 years old. He was an all-star in football at Paseo High School and graduated in 1951. Art graduated from University of Kansas in 1958 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He retired from Honeywell in 1994 after 32 years of employment and was involved in several engineering organizations.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Kate Meltzer, and his two older brothers, Norman and Neil Meltzer. He is survived by his wife, Marlene Meltzer, daughter, Beth Bratman (Steve Sokol) and son Scott (Shelley) Meltzer. Art had four grandchildren, Katie and Hunter Bratman and Madison and Griffin Meltzer.
He met his wife of 64 years, Marlene Botwin, at a wedding. Art loved to travel and spend time with his grandchildren.
