Louis Samuel Meyer passed away on May 12, 2022.
Louis is survived by his wife of 66 years, Betty Culver Meyer, and four sons – Tom (Terry), David (Marla), Michael (Marcie), Eric (Erica). He leaves six grandchildren: Jonathan, Steven, Cory, Rachel (Andy), Jeremy, and Sarah. He was the son of Leon and Lucille Meyer.
Born October 14, 1933, in Kansas City, Missouri, Louis graduated high school from Pembroke Country Day School and earned his bachelor’s in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He worked in the jewelry industry for many years, first with Meyer Jewelry in Kansas City, then as an independent salesman based in Phoenix, Arizona. He would spend more than 25 years in sales at Macy’s in Scottsdale, Arizona.
He was elected and served as a trustee of The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah in Kansas City.
He also leaves his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Mark Friedman. He also leaves nephews and nieces, Kraig (Susan) Friedman and Joshua Friedman, Stephen Burstein, the late John Burstein, Carol (George) Halper, Nan (John) Oscherwitz. He was predeceased by his sister, Suzanne Burstein. Funeral services have been held.
