Jean Ann Rosenberg of Lake Waukomis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Feb. 28, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Jean was born in King City, Missouri, on March 23, 1951. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joan McCray and Eugene Allen Bottorff, and infant siblings Robert Allen and Janet Lynn. Jean is survived by her devoted partner Joseph Biszaha Jr.; sons, Josh and Zach Rosenberg; grandchildren, Jaxson, Grayson, Maya and Brinsley; siblings, Faye Stephenson of Lakeland, Florida; and Allen Bottorff II of Orlando, Florida; cousin, Judy Wilson and husband, John of Big Fork, Montana; James Brewer of Big Fork; and Jennifer Wilson Cumming of Big Fork.
Jean graduated from Research College of Nursing in 1973, and for many years she worked in the Research Medical Center emergency room treating the sickest patients — always a dedicated caregiver and nurturer. She later joined the pediatrics practice of Dr. Kurt Metzl, where many mothers and their children remember her fondly. Even when giving an injection, Jean had a gentle touch and a comforting voice.
Jean chose to become Jewish, establishing a Jewish home and raising her children in that tradition. She lived her Judaism actively, participating in several community organizations, particularly the Jewish Federation of Kansas City, in which she chaired numerous committees. With a quick and quirky sense of humor, Jean remained lifelong friends with many. As a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt, Jean gave attention and love with an open hand and an open heart. We will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flowers: Donations in memory of Jean can be made to either The University of Kansas Cancer Center or The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee to aid those currently affected by the crisis in Ukraine.
