Robert “Bob” Kleban died peacefully early on Shabbat, March 5, 2022. He was 90 years old.
Bob was an active member of myriad groups and organizations. He was known throughout the Jewish community and the greater Kansas City area. As a nephew of the late Eddie Jacobson, Bob as a teen worked at the Truman and Jacobson store. Later, as Eddie became old and frail, Bob took over the business. In all, he gave his leadership, vast knowledge and sincere caring to countless friends and acquaintances alike. Many looked up to Bob, as he was reliable, admired and, most of all, trusted.
He is survived by Sharon Kleban, his loving wife of 68 years; his children Edward and Risa Kleban; his grandchildren Natanya and Aliza; and his brother and sister-in law Stanley and Carolyn Kleban. He will be missed and remembered by countless individuals whose lives he touched. His impact will remain with many.
