Joy Davidson was born in Kansas City on December 13, 1963, to Lois and Tom Davidson. She attended The Barstow School and graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School.

She studied at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, before starting a career at the family business, Davidson’s Furniture. She also worked at The Community Blood Center of Kansas City for 15 years.

Joy had a talent for singing and art and enjoyed music, dancing and drawing pictures that she would give as gifts. Like so many Kansas City natives, her favorite meal was a Winstead’s cheeseburger and french fries—always with a diet coke.

She leaves behind her mother, Lois Davidson; her brother, Gregg Davidson (Sirenna); her sister, Andie Weisz (Keith) and her nieces and nephews: Annie Davidson, Ben Davidson, Allison Kipke and David Kipke.

A family graveside service was held at Rose Hill Cemetery, on Friday, October 22, 2021.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions be sent to The New

Reform Temple, 7100 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.
