Shirley A. Malashock, 89, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away Thursday, October 14, at KC Hospice House.

Funeral Services were on October 15, graveside, at Mount Carmel Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to Beth Shalom Synagogue of Overland Park, Kansas, or the Jewish National Fund-USA (JNF).

Before Shirley was married, she worked as a copy editor at the Kansas City Star and was later Executive Secretary to the Sr. Vice President for Operations of Trans World Airlines (TWA). As a full time homemaker, she raised two boys. She returned to work when her children left home, working 17 years for Wornall TV and Electronics.

Shirley was a member of Congregation Beth Shalom, the National Council of Jewish Women, and was a life member of Hadassah.  She graduated from Paseo High School and attended the University of Kansas City.

Mrs. Malashock was born in Kansas City, MO on September 26, 1932. In 1954, she married Irving B. Malashock. Mrs. Malashock was preceded in death by her husband, Irving Malashock; her son, Louis Malashock; her parents, Sol and Idelle Kopitnik, and her brother, Eugene Kopitnik.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Malashock; daughters-in-law, Yaffa Malashock and Gina Malashock, and grandchildren: Rachel, Yoel, Hannah, Daniel, and Kenneth Malashock.
