Janis Doreen Silver, our purple butterfly, 74, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2021. In lieu of flowers, please make donations on behalf of Janis to Wayside Waifs or any animal rescue facility.
Janis was born November 29, 1946 to Marvin and Beatrice Rubinstein in Southern California. She was an only child, moved to Raytown, Missouri, in the early 1980s, and then to Overland Park, Kansas, in the late 1990s. She was married to Laurence M. Silver for almost 20 years, who preceded her in death.
Janis was a beautician for over 40 years and truly loved all her clients. She loved animals, always had dogs and cats, and had a very soft heart for rescues and strays.
She is survived in death by her daughter, Serena M. Pastena, of Blue Springs, Missouri; grandchildren: Eric and Jason Eicholz; stepson: Brad Silver and 2 grandsons; stepdaughter: Ashley Fox and a granddaughter and grandson.
