Harold Bernard Pollack, 95, was born in Chicago on March 24, 1925, to Abraham and Anna Pollack.
Hal entered the Army on June 29, 1943, as a mail clerk. He was in the battles of Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. He was discharged on Feb. 3, 1947.
He studied accounting, sold used cars, then joined his dad Abe at Pollack & Sons Men’s Clothing on Roosevelt Road.
Hal was always spending time at the synagogue. He always loved the Jewish religion and it was there that he met a switchboard operator, Beverlee Tatz, who soon after became his wife. They were married on April 10, 1954, and were married for 58 wonderful years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Beverlee; and his siblings, Dorothy Berman, Eleanor Lutzk and Phillip Pollack.
Hal was a loving father of Stuart (Donene) Pollack, Debbie (Ross) Weinger and the late Hillary Meckley; cherished Poppy to Jordan (Leah) Pollack, Stephanie (Dave) Frayser and Nicole (Nick) McWain; great-grandfather to Harley and Wyatt Weinger and Brayden and Ainsley McWain; and uncle to many.
He was a lifelong resident of Skokie and Northbrook, Illinois, spending the last four and a half years in Overland Park.
