Kathy Darrah Kathy Suzanne Wyly Cochrane Darrah, 55, of Olathe, Kansas, died Monday, Jan. 11, 2021. A Life Celebration will be held later this year when it is safe for friends and family to gather. Kathy was born April 4, 1965, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Sandra Lee Fromson Wyly and Lyle Jerome Wyly. Kathy grew up in Prairie Village, where she attended Tomahawk Elementary, Broadmoor Junior High and Shawnee Mission West High School. She remained in the Kansas City area residing in Paola, Osawatomie, Lake Lotawana and Olathe. Kathy is survived by her children, Thomas, Alex and Emmaline Cochrane; her father and stepmother, Lyle and Sandra Johnson Wyly; her siblings, Nancy Wyly Moneymaker (Will), Mark Wyly and Stephen Wyly (Donna); husband, Michael Darrah; and uncle, John Fromson (Lydia). Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Sandra Fromson Wyly. Kathy’s joy in life was her beloved and adored children. She became a single parent early in her children’s school years, overcame many challenges and raised her children to be successful, independent and caring adults. Kathy always enjoyed health and fitness. As a youth she competed in cheerleading, swimming and softball. When her children were older she became an avid runner, biker and swimmer and competed in triathlons and half marathons. Through her many life experiences and occupations, she displayed her love for others, especially seniors, children and animals. She served by working or volunteering in schools, animal hospitals/clinics and facilities for the elderly. Family and friendships were very important to Kathy. She supported nieces and nephews by attending birthdays, celebrations and sporting events. She leaves many cherished and lifelong friends. Kathy’s smile is shining in heaven and she is now in peace with her beloved savior.
