Marshall H. Weingarten Marshall H. Weingarten, 79, was born Jan. 2, 1942, in Milwaukee to Harold and Rose Weingarten. He was a 1960 graduate of Washington High School then went on to the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee where he studied chemistry and physics. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army with duty in Vietnam at the rank of sergeant. In 1966 he married Judy, his wife of 54 years. They had two daughters, Roberta Faith and Stacey Michelle. In his own words, his most cherished moments were “My marriage and my children! I was proud of EVERY moment with them. The best of my life!” He had several different careers; his favorite, though, was his 22 years in retail jewelry. He was also a business management consultant mentoring numerous companies. In his retirement, Marshall was a volunteer for the NICU at Overland Park Regional Medical Center where he and Judy would rock babies every week (and sometimes more than once a week!). He also volunteered at VisitOP and The American Heartland Theatre. He enjoyed home décor/improvement projects and woodworking. Other remembrances in his own words, “Some best memories are of helping my wife choose décor, furnishings, etc., to make our houses home. Making decisions together was wonderful. When we married, I didn’t have in-laws, I had two sets of parents! While all were alive, it was the best times of my life.” Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Rose Weingarten; his brother, Mark Weingarten; his parents in-law, David and Rose Kaufman; and his sister-in-law, Brenda Safer. He is survived by his wife Judy and two daughters, Roberta and Stacey. Graveside services with full military honors were held Wednesday, Jan. 20, in Mount Moriah Cemetery South in Kansas City, Missouri.
