Allen E Wolf of Schererville, Indiana, formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, died Dec. 14, 2020, at the age of 88. Allen was a son, brother, husband, military vet, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, mentor and friend.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life Ruth (Plesser) Wolf, his partner and wife for 62 years. His parents, Benjamin and Sylvia Wolf, and two brothers, Robert and Norman Wolf. He is survived by two daughters, Risa (Mark) Kennedy of Florida and Janice (David) Katz of California; three grandchildren, Adam (Sarah) Tepper, Brian Tepper and Erin (Jeff) Nowakowski; and five great-grandchildren, Oliver, Sadie, Leah, Anna and Margaret. He is also survived by his youngest brother, Steve R. Wolf of Overland Park, plus many nieces and nephews.

Al graduated from Paseo High School and then graduated with honors from the University of Kansas. He wore the mantle of a proud Jayhawk alum so much so that his grandson Brian carried on the Jayhawk tradition — Rock Chalk! Al and Ruth built a successful business from scratch and their generosity to family, friends and causes they were passionate about was well known. Al loved to travel with Ruth, and they were world travelers, but Africa captured their hearts. They visited over 30 times throughout their marriage and forged friendships that lasted a lifetime.

My brother Allen will take his final trip to Africa to join Ruth at their favorite game reserve. He was a good man, who led a great life filled with love, family and integrity. He competed well. He finished the race. He kept the faith. Rest in peace my brother.
