Margaret Kellner Miller

Margaret Kellner Miller died on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2020, at the age of 98 years, two months and one week. She was always sharing her age and basking in the compliments that she did not look her age. A family celebration of her long life will be held once things return to normal.

Margaret was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 1922 to two deaf parents. Her first language was sign language and that form of communication carried her throughout life. At the end when she had had a stroke and was unable to verbally communicate, she used her right functioning arm and signed to hospital staff, hospice personnel and her family.

Margaret and her husband John retired, bought an RV and traveled the country for many, many years. They visited every state except Alaska and Hawaii before retiring to a small community outside of San Antonio, Texas, where they made new friends and started a new life for the next 25 years. Margaret was none too happy to be moved from Texas back to the Kansas City area five and a half years ago. Her walker proudly carried her Texas license plate.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband John; brother Morris; and sisters Betty and Harriet. She leaves daughter Johnette (Shel) Zimmerman and sons Steven (LeAnne) Miller and John (Patsy) Miller, plus eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. May her memory serve as a blessing.
