Patricia Leigh Shostak, formerly of Kansas City, passed away on April 24.
She was the loving mother of Skylar Brennan, Riley Brennan and Gillian Brennan; dear sister of Leslie (Bruce) Cohen, Elliott (Rebecca) Shostak and Grant (Stacey) Shostak; beloved daughter of Arleen and the late Burton Shostak; dear aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend.
Pattie followed in her father’s footsteps by pursuing a career in law, bringing the same steadiness, discernment and quiet strength that defined her life. Beyond her profession, she found joy in the beauty of everyday living. She loved being outdoors, soaking in fresh air and sunshine, and had a natural gift for interior decorating — creating spaces that felt warm, thoughtful and distinctly her.
She was deeply devoted to her friends and family, showing up with consistency, care and an open heart. During the holidays, she carried on her beloved tradition of hosting her annual cookie party, filling her home with laughter and a true sense of togetherness. As the family’s cherished baker, her recipes — and the memories made alongside them — will be passed down with love for generations.
Graveside services were held on April 28 at United Hebrew Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Siteman Cancer Center (MSC 1082-414-2555, 1 Brookings Dr., St. Louis, MO 63130) or online at siteman.wustl.edu/tribute.
