Marsha Renee Levey, 78, passed away peacefully on April 13, surrounded by her loving family.
A woman of profound warmth and kindness, Marsha dedicated her life to her family, her students and her community.
Born on Oct. 16, 1947, in Easton, Pennsylvania, Marsha was the daughter of the late Julius and Ruby Berman. She eventually moved to the Kansas City area, where she became a cornerstone of early childhood education for nearly 30 years. As a preschool teacher at Kehilath Israel Synagogue and The Temple, Congregation B’nai Jehudah, her gentle guidance and patience shaped the lives of countless children, leaving an indelible mark on generations of families.
Marsha’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Chuck Levey, and her sister, Janice Feinberg (Frank). She was the beloved mother of Kim Borjas (Brian), Kristi Pinnick and Jonathan Levey. She was also the proud grandmother of Michael, Landon, Sydney and Lacey, and the cherished great-grandmother of Ryleigh.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the caregivers at Helping Hands Senior Care and Jemi Home Care for the compassionate care and support they provided to Marsha.
Funeral services were held on April 15 at the Louis Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Rose Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at parkinson.org.
