Phew! 2020 is over. KU Hillel, despite the circumstance surrounding the pandemic, held a meaningful and successful fall semester. Now that 2021 is here and the spring semester is beginning, KU Hillel aims to go above and beyond in programming and engagement.

 

On Jan. 31, the Jewish Community Foundation’s J-LEAD program hosted “2021 is here! Let’s plan for a bright future,” an online event about tax, financial and estate planning techniques. Lindsay Fineman, J-LEAD chair, moderated a panel of notable experts, including current and past J-LEAD members...

The Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City and The J will offer a three-part virtual course series titled “Visions in the Night: Judaism and Dreams” with Rabbi Howard Avruhm Addison. The series will kick off on Feb. 24 with subsequent dates on March 3 and March 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. via Zoom. The course is part of the Jewish Federation’s and The J’s collaborative Jewish Experiences programming.

Do not delay — make your reservation to attend the communitywide virtual Purim day celebration taking place 11 a.m.-noon on Friday, Feb. 26. Jewish community members of all ages are welcome. There is no charge to attend the program but attendees are asked to register online by Monday, Feb. 22, at: forms.gle/eaRoPpF4GeaiFVcW6.

Curbside Kosher for Passover seder meals-to-go will once again be available to the Jewish community this year. Meals prepared by Cathy Levin, Kosher Connection under supervision of the Vaad HaKashruth of Kansas City can be picked up on Friday, March 26. Orders must be placed by Tuesday, March 16, and after the deadline, orders will be taken only on a meal availability basis.
