Alan Poisner

At the recent annual meeting of USA Track & Field (USAFT) in Columbus, Ohio, Alan Poisner was recognized as Racewalker of the Year in his age division (80-84). He previously had won Racewalker of the Year in 2011 and 2015.

Gavin Brivik

Composer Gavin Brivik has journeyed a long way from Overland Park in his 26 years. Currently studying for his master’s degree in music composition for film and multimedia at New York University, he already has a number of first-place awards under his belt.

For the second year, members of the community will light the menorah by the fire pit between Pinstripes and The Brass Onion Restaurant at Prairiefire each night at 5 p.m. through Tuesday, Dec. 19.
