A social justice opportunity for school-age children

Sasone is proud to announce the winners of its first essay contest in honor of Jewish Disabilities Awareness and Inclusion Month (JDAIM).

The Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City has joined in a national effort to help members of the Jewish community effected by power outages that wreaked havoc across Texas earlier this month as a result of winter storms and freezing temperatures.

Otterbein University Theatre & Dance, located in Westerville, Ohio (a suburb of Columbus), will be filming and streaming a production of “Into a Lamplit Room: The Songs of Kurt Weill,” starring Kansas Citian Max Pinson in the role of Kurt Weill.

KU Hillel has unveiled Purimgrams as a way for students to celebrate the upcoming holiday of Purim with other Jewish students at KU. Purim is known as the “upside down holiday,” where it provides relief from life’s burdens — and we could all use that this year.

The Jewish Community Foundation regularly collaborates with local Jewish agencies and synagogues to foster, sustain and ensure a strong and vibrant Jewish community. As part of this effort, on Feb. 18 the Foundation hosted the latest installment of its Parking Lot Lunch series.
