Under the ownership of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, The Kansas City Jewish Chronicle has undergone a website redesign, launched a digital version of the printed newspaper, and revived a dormant Facebook presence. In addition, we are currently underway with a project to bring 100 years of Jewish Chronicle content to readers via a complete, searchable digital archive.
For almost 30 years, the Belzer Garden at the Jewish Community Campus has provided the community a place to honor, remember and appreciate their loved ones. Named after David (Dave) Belzer, the executive director of The J KC - Jewish Community Center from 1984 until his passing in 1992, the Belzer Garden is located outside the new Fitness & Sports entrance at The J along the path to the outdoor pools.

Each year, KU Hillel provides leadership experiences for Jewish college students. As part of its mission to develop the next generation of Jewish adults, this is an integral part of the KU Hillel community. From internships covering social media strategy to planning Shabbat dinners for over a hundred peers, students are able to learn real-life skills and create their own leadership style.

Based on a unanimous recommendation by its worship committee, Congregation Ohev Sholom’s board of directors has made the decision to hold High Holiday services via Zoom due to concerns regarding COVID-19.
Priya has increased funds for couples and individuals looking to grow their Jewish families. Priya is a program of Jewish Family Services offering Jewish individuals and couples (including LGBTQ+ and interfaith families) emotional support, resource connection, spiritual guidance and financial assistance with genetic testing, fertility treatments and adoption.
A lovely evening featuring delightful cuisine, presentations, and awards for some well-deserved honors to Torah class attendees took place recently during a program for women and girls. Neshei Chabad of KC had its first in-person program (which was also available on Zoom) on July 13, the 4th of the Jewish month of Menachem Av.
HBHA sukkah getting a refresh
HBHA’s sukkah, last dedicated in 2002, was in need of some TLC. In a Facebook post, the school announced that a new sukkah and outdoor education space is in the works in HBHA’s courtyard.
American Public Square at Jewell, JCRB|AJC Kansas City and Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City will jointly present an evening event, “The Rise of Antisemitism from the Left and the Right,” at 6:30 p.m. on September 2 at Union Station.
