Jewish-owned business Olive Tree and community member and baker Michael Crane are collaborating on a special menu for Rosh Hashanah celebrations. They will offer a selection of traditional Jewish dishes available for pickup at Olive Tree.
The exclusive Rosh Hashanah menu will feature a variety of traditional Jewish holiday foods, including tzimmes (made with root vegetables, matzo balls, slow-roasted beef and sweet prunes), matzo ball soup, chopped liver, noodle kugel, challah and French apple cake.
All orders must be placed by Sept. 24, and pickup will be available at Olive Tree on Oct. 1 before 5 p.m.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Michael Crane, whose expertise in Jewish pastries and comfort foods brings a warm, authentic touch to our Rosh Hashanah offerings,” said Mindy Riley, owner of Olive Tree. “These traditional dishes are perfect for celebrating the Jewish New Year, and we’re excited to make them available to the community.”
Since retiring from Crane Brewing, Crane has been working in the field of traditional Jewish foods, having taught Jewish food classes for Slow Food Kansas on topics such as Passover foods, cheese blintzes, New York-style bagels and more. In July, Crane and Olive Tree worked together on a pastrami-and-rye pop-up event, and Crane is also working with Congregation Beth Torah to offer cheese blintzes for break-the-fast after Yom Kippur.
“It’s an honor to work with Olive Tree and bring these cherished flavors to more families during this meaningful time of year,” Crane said.
Orders can be placed by contacting Olive Tree directly or at olivetreekc.com/collections/high-holiday-menu.
