Jewish Experiences, a collaboration of Jewish Federation and The J, will be facilitating Jewish Heritage Night at The K, a celebration of the Jewish community’s history and heritage at the Kansas City Royals’ Kauffman Stadium.

The community is invited to celebrate Jewish heritage at Kauffman Stadium (1 Royal Way, Kansas City, MO 64129) as the Kansas City Royals take on the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 7:10 p.m.

More information and tickets purchasing are available at thejkc.org/royalsgame.

“Celebrating Jewish heritage in our wider Kansas City community — especially at what has been a challenging time in the world for Jewish people — is a wonderful opportunity, and we are grateful for the Royals reaching out to continue a partnership that goes back to Jewish Community Night in 2021,” said Derek Gale, vice president and COO of Jewish Federation. “Whether or not any person or family is a sports fan, gathering in community on a summer evening feels good, and the Royals welcoming us sends a message we have been sharing to all types of families and people: You belong in this community.”

Prior to the first pitch, a community tailgate will be held in Lot N beginning at 5 p.m. Tickets to the tailgate must be purchased separately. Attendees can choose between a Vaad-supervised kosher meal of chicken shawarma or falafel served with pita, hummus and water.

Prior to the game, Barry Kaseff and Lynne Melcher, Sam and Danielle Levine, and Beth Liss will be honored on the field. 2023 KC SuperStar winner Brett Oplotnik will sing the national anthem.

“It’s a privilege to have an opportunity to honor individuals who have done so much for our community and for so many of our institutions,” said Jim Sluyter, president and CEO of The J. “We are fortunate to have supporters who believe in what our organizations do, and it’s an honor to show our gratitude to them in front of our community and a packed crowd at Kauffman Stadium.”

Custom Hebrew Royals jerseys will be available with the purchase of a theme ticket. The jerseys will be available at Gate A, and purchasers must arrive before the second inning to receive theirs. Gate A opens at 5:30 p.m., and only individuals who present a Jewish Heritage Night theme ticket will receive a jersey. Ticket prices will gradually increase as game day approaches, so interested attendees should purchase early for the lowest price.
