Shawnee, Kansas, craft cocktail bar Drastic Measures transformed into “Drastic Mensches,” a Hanukkah pop-up bar this month and raised more than $13,000 (minus payroll and taxes) for Jewish Family Services (JFS).
During Hanukkah, Drastic Measures donated 100% of its proceeds to JFS. Around 900 custom Jewish-themed cocktails were sold during that time. According to the bar’s Instagram page, it raised $7,500 for JFS last year.
Members of JFS’ Emerging Leaders young adult affinity group visited the bar during Hanukkah and lit the menorah, and Jewish community members from across Greater Kansas City visited the bar throughout Hanukkah.
