The Congregation Beth Shalom Sisterhood has revived the program, Warm Up America, to provide handmade afghans to be donated to various local social service organizations for individuals or families in need.
On Nov. 8, past Co-Chair Carol Yarmo and current Co-Chair Naomi Silverman visited with Erika Terpstra, program manager with Jewish Family Services, and delivered 11 handmade afghans. With this donation, the Warm Up America has donated more than 450 afghans since its inception.
Warm Up America is open to the community at large and meets on the first Wednesday of every month.
“We look forward to meeting new members as well as helping with committee service,” Silverman said.
